Aubameyang Named African Player Of The Year

Borrusia Dortmund’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has won the 2015 African player of the year award. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang named African player of the year 2015  The Gabon front man beat off competition from Manchester City’s Yaya Toure and Swansea City’s Andre Ayew who had excellent years of their own. Aubameyang has been one of Europa’s deadliest strikers this season scoring twenty seven goals in twenty seven games in all competitions. Yaya Toure was named second best player while Andre Ayew was named thrid best player. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang becomes the first player from the German league to be crowned African footballer of the Year. UAE, Uganda Go Above Nigeria In Latest FIFA Rankings

The first FIFA rankings for the year 2015 has been released with the Super Eagles of Nigeria retaining their position but wouldn’t be too happy the likes of UAE and Uganda went above them. Super Eagles  The Super Eagles are still in 66th position but have dropped places in the African rankings. The team is ranked 14th in Africa and 66th in the world while the women’s team; the Super Falcons are ranked 37th in the world and first in Africa. The Super Eagles did not play any match in December which was the basis for the latest rankings. Sunday Oliseh’s boys play Niger on 18th of January, 2016 in their next match which is a friendly to be contested in Nigeria.

GLO-CAF Awards 2015

All is getting set for the Glo-CAF awards 2015 which which be held in Abuja, Nigeria.  A number of stars have announced their arrival in Nigeria. The likes of Player of the Year nominees Andre Ayew and Pierre Emerick Aubameyang have arrived Nigeria’s capitals, Abuja where the awards will be held. Didier Drogba Set For Another Chelsea Reunion

It has been understood that the Chelsea and Ivory Coast legend Didier Drogba has agreed in principle to retire from football and work in a coaching capacity at his old club. Rafa Benitez has released a statement following his sacking as Real Madrid coach by Florentino Perez on Monday, January 4.   The coach did not attack anyone in his message but was utterly grateful for the chance afforded to coach the team. Don't Compare Me with Guardiola -Zidane

New Real Madrid coach, Zinedine Zidane has stated that fans should not compare him with Guardiola. The three-time world footballer of the year won the European cup in 2002, a feat which Guardiola achieved in 1992. Zinedine Zidane Zidane, who apparently was notified before he succeeded Benitez disclosed that he will do his very best for the club. “You can’t compare me with Guardiola. China’s 500 Meter FAST Radio Telescope to be World’s Largest

i China Radio Telescope (Image Courtesy www.earthsky.org) The Chinese National Astronomical Observatories of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, with funding from China’s National Development & Reform Commission (NDRC), is building the world’s largest radio telescope known as FAST, or Five-Hundred-Meter Aperture Spherical Telescope. The project is expected to be complete in 2016. The Chinese are building yet another massive construction project, this time, a scientific instrument that will be used to detect radio signals from outer space. According to scientists working on the project, FAST will be capable of detecting radio signals from tens of billions of light-years away. According to Nan Rendong, FAST’s chief scientist, “a radio telescope is like a sensitive ear, listening to tell meaningful radio messages from white noise in the universe. It is like identifying the sound of two Cadiz in a thunderstorm.” FAST is being built in a large depression with a diameter
