Former Katsina governor docked for alleged N11.5bn, pleads not guilty

   A former governor of Katsina state, Ibrahim Shema, was on Tuesday, April 10, arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). He pleaded not guilty to 24-count charge filed against him at the court over an alleged financial misappropriation of local government funds amounting to N11.5 billion.
The case was stood down for 15 minutes and was being observed by the court before proceedings would continue.

 Some ex-heads of government agencies and some serving government officials were among those being quizzed by the EFCC men.

  Also Thirty four former local government chairmen who were elected under the Peoples Democratic Party regime in the state are also being interrogated by the operatives.
